'A Line In The Sky' - Ben Nevis Print
Ben Nevis - the UK's highest peak at 1345m, the summit is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles. A mecca for climbers and hikers from all over the world, whether skiing or ice-climbing in the back gullies or taking on the 3 peaks challenge, finishing the West Highland Way from Glasgow or completing all Scotland's Munros.
This is an iconic mountain and landscape and has been photographed and painted many a time. However there are few visions like this one; this is a special choreographed image of an event which saw hikers reach the summit in the dark during the night (the zigzag line on the mountain) to raise finds and awareness for the environmental issues the area faces being so popular. Conditions were perfect - with a clear starry sky. This image is composed of around 120 30-second exposures showing the star trails, hikers and rising tide around the famous Corpach Ship Wreck.

Every image is individually printed to order from my base in the Scottish Highlands.
Printer / Ink
All images are professionally printed with superb detail and colour using the Canon Pro1000 Photo printer using the “LUCIA PRO 12-ink” system’s broader colour gamut and fine-tuned detail.
Paper
Depending on the image – I will select one of the following premium grade photo papers:
1. Fotospeed Platinum Baryta 300 is 100% acid-free, Fine Art paper with a smooth unglazed gloss surface. A natural white base and state of the art micro-porous ink receiving layer delivers a high D-MAX (2.7) and wide colour gamut. Platinum Baryta 300 reveals delicate highlights and smooth transitions to shadows for both colour and B&W printing. The paper is approved by the Fine Art Trade Guild and It is used in conjunction with pigment inks ensuring a print life of more than 85 years.
2. Smooth Cotton Signature Paper 300 is 100% cotton, pH neutral, fine art paper with an ultra-smooth surface. The paper’s white base and state of the art coating delivers the highest level of ink load of all the Fotospeed range. Smooth Cotton 300 is therefore ideal for high saturation images. It is used in conjunction with pigment inks, the paper will ensure a print life of more than 85 years.

The aspect ratio of this image is 3:2, the printed image is available in 4 sizes:
*10.5 x 7 inches (229 x 152 mm) – printed on A4 paper - £39.95
*15 x 10 inches (381 x 254 mm) – printed on A3 paper - £69.95
*21 x 14 inches (457 x 304 mm) – printed on A2 paper - £99.95
The prints are not trimmed to allow for flexibility when framing/mounting; therefore, there will be a white border of minimum 0.75 inch / 190mm (See product image).
Frames and/or ‘passe-partouts’ / mounts are not included (though each print will have a white border which can be used). The range of printed image sizes available are specifically offered to be used with commonly found frame sizes.
*NB. Mock-up frame images are to give examples of how your prints might look in a frame and in various settings - these are not to scale.

Unless they are numbered and stated as 'Limited Edition', prints come as standard unsigned, but I would be very happy to sign prints for you if requested.
Other sizes are available upon request (up to 17x22inches) - please contact me to discuss any specific requirements.
