IMAGE LICENSING

Engaging and well-used imagery can, and should, enhance your message, capture the imagination of your audience; boosting your business or highlighting your cause.

I offer Digital Image files for various forms of licensed use - both digital and print. Whether you are a small business and want to smarten up your website/social media banners or market or promote specific products, or a larger commercial venture looking to align with brand guidelines; you can commission a shoot or select from my extensive and varied portfolio of striking imagery to meet your needs. Images will come in a high resolution format relevant for your planned usage.

NON-COMMISSIONED WORK - RATES / PRICES

This will vary greatly depending on your planned usage, the type of client etc, and various levels of exclusivity can be managed through an agreed license. But as a rough guide, prices for non-commissioned works are as follows:

Use:

• Presentation/Talk or Newsletters - £40

• Online personal - websites, apps, social media and blogs (non-commercial: excludes marketing and advertising) - £50

• Non-commercial magazines and books - print or digital, inside use, 5000 circulation, worldwide no time limit, (excludes advertising) - £150

• Digital Marketing Package / Small Business - single image or use in marketing campaigns promoting businesses which have less than 8 employees, worldwide, no time limit (excludes advertising) - £200

• Digital Marketing Package / Large Business - single image for use in marketing campaigns promoting businesses which have more than 8 employees, worldwide, no time limit (excludes advertising) - £300

• If you wish to use printed images for commercial purposes - marketing/advertising, prices are as follows:

  • Internal, up to A4 size, 5000 circulation, worldwide, for 5 years:

    • Small Business (<8 employees) - £200 per image

    • Large business (>8 employees) - £300 per image

  • Front page or feature image up to A4 size, 5000 circulation, worldwide, for 5 years:

    • Small Business (<8 employees) - £300 per image

    • Large business (>8 employees) - £450 per image

  • Beyond A4 size - this will vary depending on medium/production costs, size and audience - for example: business space wallpaper, window stickers, billboards): please get in touch for detailed quote.

• Rates for specific advertising (promoting a company and its products or services through paid channels) will vary depending on medium/production costs, size and audience - please get in touch for detailed quote.

COMMISSIONED WORK - RATES / PRICES

• Online use (websites, apps, social media and blogs) of images is included in the day rate quoted (as is the production and delivery of appropriate files).

• If you opt for the above use - this does not extend to any third party use. If a third party does subsequently wish to use commissioned images, for example to showcase their products within, or as a feature to showcase your products in their outlet (newspapers, lifestyle magazines etc), then this must be with your permission. No assignable rights would be passed on to the third party beyond the agreed uses, a supplied usage agreement should be signed.

  Prices would be as follows:

  • Featured across social media outlets - £50 per post (up to 4 images). Full credit must be given to Niven Photography and respective Niven Photography social media pages properly tagged.

  • Featured on third party website - £150 (up to 4 images). Full credit must be given to Niven Photography.

  • Digital Marketing Package (including both of the above) - £175. Full credit must be given to Niven Photography.

  • For any other extended third party image use, such as advertising campaigns, rates would vary depending on medium/production costs, size and audience - please get in touch for detailed quote.

• If you wish to use printed images from the shoot for commercial purposes - marketing/advertising, prices are as follows:

  • Internal, up to A4 size, 5000 circulation, worldwide, for 5 years:

    • Small Business (<8 employees) - £150 per image

    • Large business (>8 employees) - £250 per image

  • Front page or feature image up to A4 size, 5000 circulation, worldwide, for 5 years:

    • Small Business (<8 employees) - £250 per image

    • Large business (>8 employees) - £400 per image

  • Beyond A4 size - this will vary depending on medium/production costs, size and audience - for example: business space wallpaper, window stickers, billboards): please get in touch for detailed quote

• Outright use covering any future eventual usage including limited assignable use to third parties - rates would be quoted after planned usage is explained (will vary depending on medium/production costs, size and audience - please get in touch for detailed quote). In a nutshell - this means that if someone comes to you asking to use the images, you can make that decision without involving me (so long as some basic conditions are adhered to). I will always make a plan that works for you and covers all eventualities, this takes away the any hassle of having to revisit with any new enquiries that come down the line.
